What a transformation!
The dark colonial-style table was getting old and no longer fit in with the customer's fresh, modern ambience. The young mother did not want to replace the beautifully shaped and sturdy table and had very specific ideas about what the new look should be. So she chose a shade of white that matched her chic Hampton style. There are several shades of this to choose from in the Little Greene color palette .
Before we refurbished the table, we didn't know what kind of wood was underneath, but we were lucky and a lovely warm wood tone and a regular top emerged. The legs of the table were cleaned beforehand, sanded and then painted with Little Greene's Aluminium Wood Primer. This way we could be sure that no unwanted tannins would penetrate the light paint - this makes perfect sense, especially with white.
The table top was sanded very finely and given a layer of hard wax oil in cream. This means that the great table fits into the apartment again and brightens up the room.
Beautiful, isn't it?
